Filip Meurs was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Elbert Eisenga struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Edgard Gasteren didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gooische club. Robbie Ottenhof made in the 35th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Elbert Eisenga however managed to control. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dave Vliet in the 38th minute of play forced Gooische club's goalkeeper Filip Meurs to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Elbert Eisenga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to SC Cliffeinde getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Gert Jan Houtman hit a great ball. After the first half SC Cliffeinde were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

With a little luck, Gooische club's Filip Meurs got control of the ball when Dave Vliet tried to sneak it across the goal line. Elbert Eisenga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgard Gasteren having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Elbert Eisenga in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edgard Gasteren saved SC Cliffeinde from getting behind. After 66 played minutes Gooische club got a freekick which was hit by Toimi Blom. The supporters of Gooische club booed when SC Cliffeinde was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dave Vliet didn't get a good kick on the ball. Filip Meurs showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dave Vliet, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. When the match had gone on for 75 minutes, Elbert Eisenga put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Edgard Gasteren. Elbert Eisenga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Edgard Gasteren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Tonnie Vliet kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Filip Meurs. That made the score 1-3 in the 90 minute of play. Arnout Meijs fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filip Meurs having to interfere.
