A collision led to Weena getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Stephan Hilkes hit a great ball. After 5 played minutes Weena got a freekick which was hit by Simon Hartogh. When Nigel Jansen came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the SC Cliffeinde fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nigel Jansen couldn't finish the play. Marcel Sandbergen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dave Vliet, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. The audience was convinced that Gooitzen Witting's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edgard Gasteren was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. A collision led to SC Cliffeinde getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Anton Bot hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dave Vliet in the 16th minute of play forced Weena's goalkeeper Marcel Sandbergen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcel Sandbergen was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Dave Vliet showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 19 minute of play. Weena's Marcel Sandbergen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dave Vliet in the 23rd minute of play. In the 27th minute, SC Cliffeinde's Dave Vliet ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Marcel Sandbergen. Marcel Sandbergen yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Cliffeinde's goalkeeper Edgard Gasteren, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Dave Vliet kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Marcel Sandbergen. That made the score 3-0 in the 31 minute of play. Gooitzen Witting received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Edgard Gasteren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dave Vliet stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A throw-in in the 52nd minute of the game was made by Izaak Onrust with Jan Hilkes as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Marcel Sandbergen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dave Vliet in the 53rd minute of the match. After 55 played minutes, Weena's Tommie Sparnaaij shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Edgard Gasteren came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Weena reached it. Simon Hartogh got his second yellow card in the match during the 58th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 58 played minutes Weena got a freekick which was hit by Simon Hartogh. 61 minutes into the match, SC Cliffeinde's goalkeeper Edgard Gasteren had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gooitzen Witting. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tonnie Vliet in the 63rd minute of play forced Weena's goalkeeper Marcel Sandbergen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tjeerd van den Bergh kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dave Vliet in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcel Sandbergen saved Weena from getting behind. In the 75th minute, Dave Vliet ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcel Sandbergen was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. SC Cliffeinde's Edgard Gasteren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gooitzen Witting in the 78th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Weena's Tjeerd van den Bergh got a free kick in the 79th minute. Edgard Gasteren made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Jan Vennegoor sent off a good shot on target. In the 93rd minute Dave Vliet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcel Sandbergen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. SC Cliffeinde's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
