Filip Meurs didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Riemer Waesbergen went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Olof Rekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elbert Eisenga, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Elbert Eisenga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olof Rekers having to interfere. Gooische club's Elbert Eisenga got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alex van Dalfsen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filip Meurs having to interfere. Filip Meurs made an important save on a dangerous shot by Riemer Waesbergen in the 28th minute. Olof Rekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elbert Eisenga in the 35th minute of play. In the 48th minute Elbert Eisenga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olof Rekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

59 minutes into the game, Wilfried Ponk cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Olof Rekers was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Wilfried Ponk managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gooische club's supporters rose to their feet, but Wilfried Ponk was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Olof Rekers breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Filip Meurs came out of the goal and Riemer Waesbergen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Toimi Blom had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Olof Rekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elbert Eisenga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 97th match minute, FC Cityside was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Riemer Waesbergen to maneuver through the defense. FC Cityside succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Gooische club had controlled the match.
