Taco Koole recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 79th minute, Jacobus Hanekamp hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 82 minutes, Frits Degens put it in 0-8 from a short distance just to the right of Martijn Geerts. An unexpectedly hard shot by Taco Koole in the 85th minute of play forced Sporting Skoekeloen's goalkeeper Martijn Geerts to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Vitesse booed when Sporting Skoekeloen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joop Stühling didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Sporting Skoekeloen getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Coenraad Bult hit a great ball. Through an outstanding action, after 97 minutes, Martijn Geerts successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. When the final whistle sounded Vitesse left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Sporting Skoekeloen.
