After a defensive mix-up in D.S United's zone, Henry Teesing stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paul Bouwman came out of the goal and Henry Teesing tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. René de Vries showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hub Oorthuis in the 40th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Karsten Hegeman got free with René de Vries in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Karsten Hegeman came free with the goalkeeper in the 44th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and René de Vries could save by the left post. In the 46th minute of the match D.S United got a corner. Kolham FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Julius Reiling ran over to the corner to take the kick. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Hub Oorthuis made the kick off in the second half. Karsten Hegeman scored 2-1 in the 56th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of René de Vries, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 59 minutes into the game, Alwin Trenning was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kolham FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave D.S United the free kick. In the 59th minute, Alwin Trenning hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kristian Zoolingen blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Paul Bouwman having to make a save. Kristian Zoolingen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paul Bouwman having to interfere. Karsten Hegeman might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over René de Vries. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Karsten Hegeman ran back to his position shaking his head. If Karsten Hegeman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Laurens Oosterbaan hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Kristian Zoolingen blasted a shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Paul Bouwman having to make a save. 80 minutes into the match, Kolham FC's goal looked a bit too open when Karsten Hegeman came free, but René de Vries reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. René de Vries took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hub Oorthuis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kristian Zoolingen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Paul Bouwman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Kolham FC booed when D.S United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jurgen Oosting didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Kolham FC's Kristian Zoolingen in the 99th minute got a chance for a shot 99th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
