After a defensive mix-up in Kolham FC's zone, Gert Hilberts stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. René de Vries came out of the goal and Gert Hilberts tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 7 minutes into the match, Gertjan Krol notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Kolham FC's René de Vries. René de Vries was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Leendert Kloppenburg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Theo Zevenberg kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. If Gertjan Krol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 37th minute, Fokke Fokkelman left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Raamberg Excelsior fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. 45 minutes into the game, Raamberg Excelsior's Gertjan Krol nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. René de Vries made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-5 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kristian Zoolingen was the one to do the kick off. Gertjan Krol could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but René de Vries made a huge save. If Heinz-Dieter Baxter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gert Hilberts hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Jacques Eiting was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 55th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. If Gertjan Krol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kolham FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 60th minute, when Gertjan Krol scored to the left of an out of position René de Vries, making the score, 0-6. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kristian Zoolingen in the 65th minute of play forced Raamberg Excelsior's goalkeeper Rajmund Sáfár to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 73rd minute, Boudewijn Averdijk hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 74 minutes into the match, Raamberg Excelsior's Mario Ranzijn broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Gertjan Krol sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Raamberg Excelsior's Heinz-Dieter Baxter got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 80th match minute, Kolham FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Willem Sibon to maneuver through the defense. Leendert Kloppenburg struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. René de Vries didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Raamberg Excelsior. The audience was convinced that Heinz-Dieter Baxter's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but René de Vries was relentless in the 82nd minute of the game. Gert Hilberts hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Raamberg Excelsior's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
