The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ben de Ruijter scored 0-1 in the 3rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Christodoulos Moscholidis, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Evripidis Stabouloglou could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Otto Tulner made a huge save. Martijn Klaasens took the ball and in the 8 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Otto Tulner. Otto Tulner dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. In the 15th minute Hub Huizinga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christodoulos Moscholidis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zorky F.C.'s Otto Tulner proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Zorky F.C. from getting a goal against them. Otto Tulner showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Peter van Gaal in the 26th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Martijn Klaasens during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 28th match minute, Budapest United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Martijn Klaasens to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Peter van Gaal in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Otto Tulner saved Zorky F.C. from getting behind. 39 minutes into the match, Martijn Klaasens notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Zorky F.C.'s Otto Tulner. Otto Tulner was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Zorky F.C.'s Otto Tulner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Peter van Gaal in the 42nd minute of play. Martijn Klaasenss short, quick shot in the 46thth minute got Otto Tulner to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hub Huizinga stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Budapest United getting a freekick after 50 minutes play. Harry Plenter hit a great ball. Otto Tulner made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evripidis Stabouloglou in the 54th minute of play. Hans Tevreden hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Otto Tulner took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Evripidis Stabouloglou, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Martijn Klaasens took the ball and in the 64 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Otto Tulner. Otto Tulner dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. 67 minutes into the match, Martijn Klaasens notched a goal, 5-1, to the right of Zorky F.C.'s Otto Tulner. Otto Tulner was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Hub Huizinga came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Zorky F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hub Huizinga couldn't finish the play. After 74 minutes, Martijn Klaasens made it 6-1 with a short kick to the right side. Zorky F.C.'s Otto Tulner tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When Folker de Winter came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Budapest United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Folker de Winter couldn't finish the play. 82 minutes into the game, Floris Arts was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Zorky F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Budapest United the free kick. The supporters of Budapest United booed when Zorky F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Floris Arts didn't get a good kick on the ball. 87 minutes into the match, Zorky F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Martijn Klaasens came free, but Otto Tulner reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Otto Tulner showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Martijn Klaasens, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. If Ben de Ruijter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 95 minutes of play, Budapest United's Martijn Klaasens made it 7-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Otto Tulner was left in no man's land by his defense there! Budapest United's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
