When Budapest United's Peter van Gaal in the 3rd minute got a chance for a shot 3rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye PSV EINDHOVEN's goalie prevented a goal. Jef Haas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Evripidis Stabouloglou's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. Barry de Witte charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Barry de Witte the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to PSV EINDHOVEN getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Barry de Witte hit a great ball. When the match had gone on for 9 minutes, Folker de Winter took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Jef Haas to make any attempt to save it. After 12 played minutes Budapest United got a freekick which was hit by Hugo Haas. Thanks to some nice moves Hugo Haas could shoot a difficult shot in the 14th minute, which Jef Haas however easily saved by the left post. Martijn Klaasens might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jef Haas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Martijn Klaasens ran back to his position shaking his head. The Budapest United fans' excitement grew in the 21st match minute when Budapest United's Evripidis Stabouloglou looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Evripidis Stabouloglou had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 26 minutes into the match, Evripidis Stabouloglou notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of PSV EINDHOVEN's Jef Haas. Jef Haas was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 34thth minute of the game Martijn Klaasens who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but PSV EINDHOVEN's Jef Haas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Martijn Klaasenss short, quick shot in the 38thth minute got Jef Haas to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Budapest United's Evripidis Stabouloglou got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. From close distance Martijn Klaasens pressed in the 6-0 goal high up into nets stiches in the right cross 45 minutes into the game. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Barry de Witte made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Budapest United's Folker de Winter got a free kick in the 51st minute. Martijn Klaasens blasted a shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jef Haas having to make a save. Peter van Gaal scored 7-0 in the 59th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jef Haas, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Folker de Winter kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. 8-0 became the score in the 64th minute when Evripidis Stabouloglou elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 68th minute Evripidis Stabouloglou shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jef Haas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Evripidis Stabouloglou sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Peter van Gaal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jef Haas having to interfere. In the 73rd minute, Evripidis Stabouloglou got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Budapest United's Ralph Abbenbroek was substituted for Wilco Ieberink. Budapest United's Geale Ijkwezen was substituted for Peter van Gaal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Harry Plenter in the 86th minute of play forced PSV EINDHOVEN's goalkeeper Jef Haas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jef Haas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Folker de Winter, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Jef Haas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Folker de Winter in the 88th minute of play. 90 minutes into the match, Geale Ijkwezen notched a goal, 10-0, to the right of PSV EINDHOVEN's Jef Haas. Jef Haas was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jef Haas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geale Ijkwezen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hans Stevens fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 96th minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball went over. It was a very nice shot. Budapest United's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
