Lennart de Visscher received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Hans Kok came out and tried to block the shot, but Lennart de Visscher slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 14th minute. Hans Kok made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Lennart de Visscher sent off a good shot on target. Tim Donderwinkel's late challenge caught a Ankrum's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tim Donderwinkel helped the player get up and apologised. After 20 minutes, Lennart de Visscher mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ankrum and the Vitesse Arnhem players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Ankrum's Lennart de Visscher got a free kick in the 20th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Elroy Klaasens in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ate Beerthuis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 26 minutes into the match, Vitesse Arnhem's goal looked a bit too open when Lennart de Visscher came free, but Hans Kok reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hans Kok came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by Ankrum's Maurice Holsmuller. But to his dismay, Maurice Holsmuller quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. When the match had gone on for 37 minutes, Lennart de Visscher took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Hans Kok to make any attempt to save it. Henk Kremer struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Hans Kok didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ankrum. Hans Kok didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Giel Bult went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in Vitesse Arnhem's zone, Maurice Holsmuller stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hans Kok came out of the goal and Maurice Holsmuller tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Elroy Klaasens was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Vitesse Arnhem's goal looked a bit too open when Lennart de Visscher came free, but Hans Kok reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Maurice Holsmuller fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hans Kok having to interfere. When Ankrum's Maurice Holsmuller in the 57th minute got a chance for a shot 57th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Hans Kok showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maurice Holsmuller, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Tim Donderwinkel hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Hans Kok showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lennart de Visscher in the 65th minute of the match. 66 minutes into the match, Henk Kremer had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hans Kok. Vitesse Arnhem's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Henk Kremer was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. 70 minutes into the game, Lennart de Visscher cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-0. Hans Kok was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 73 minutes into the game, Maurice Holsmuller was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ankrum's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vitesse Arnhem the free kick. In the 73rd minute, Maurice Holsmuller hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Maurice Holsmuller received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Hans Kok tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henk Kremer in the 78th minute of play forced Vitesse Arnhem's goalkeeper Hans Kok to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Ankrum fans' excitement grew in the 82nd match minute when Ankrum's Lennart de Visscher looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 7-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Hans Kok made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lennart de Visscher in the 89th minute of play. Lennart de Visscher took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hans Kok. Hans Kok dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 8-0. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Ankrum fully deserved thier win.
