The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute José Arruda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maikel Elders saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wilco Höhenstein made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Otto Kroeze sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerald Haar in the 6th minute of play forced FC Gemelli's goalkeeper Wilco Höhenstein to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jacobus de Bruin got free with Wilco Höhenstein in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Wilco Höhenstein made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gerald Haar in the 12th minute of play. A collision led to FC Gemelli getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. José Arruda hit a great ball. 15 minutes into the match, Decathlon Dudes's goal looked a bit too open when Adriaan Ritsma came free, but Maikel Elders reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 19 minutes of play, FC Gemelli's Billy Popping made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Maikel Elders was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerald Haar in the 22nd minute of play forced FC Gemelli's goalkeeper Wilco Höhenstein to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Billy Popping fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Gemelli's protests and gave Billy Popping a yellow card for diving instead. Maikel Elders showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Koen Claevers, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Maikel Elders took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Billy Popping, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 27th minute, José Arruda made a precise shot to the right of Maikel Elders. Decathlon Dudes's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. 30 minutes into the game, FC Gemelli's Lucien Mueller nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Maikel Elders made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. Maikel Elders came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Gemelli's Koen Claevers. But to his dismay, Koen Claevers quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-5. If Koen Claevers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adriaan Ritsma in the 41st minute of play forced Decathlon Dudes's goalkeeper Maikel Elders to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 43 minutes into the game, FC Gemelli's Adriaan Ritsma nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Maikel Elders made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-6. Wilco Höhenstein made an important save on a dangerous shot by Otto Kroeze in the 47th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-6.

Decathlon Dudes's Maikel Elders played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Koen Claevers in the 56th minute of play. In the 60th minute, Koen Claevers made a precise shot to the right of Maikel Elders. Decathlon Dudes's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-7. In the 69th minute, FC Gemelli's Lucien Mueller ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Maikel Elders. Maikel Elders yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-9. Adriaan Ritsma scored 2-10 in the 73rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Maikel Elders, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Wilco Höhenstein took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gerald Haar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Maikel Elders was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Koen Claevers showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-11 in the 83 minute of play. 86 minutes into the match, Koen Claevers dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Maikel Elders, 2-12. Hugo Vroom kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. 94 minutes into the match, Adriaan Ritsma had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Maikel Elders. Decathlon Dudes's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Adriaan Ritsma was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-13. When the match was over FC Gemelli could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Decathlon Dudes throughout the match.
