A collision led to Ankrum getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Serge van Hintum hit a great ball. The long shot by Brain Roelofsen in the 4th minute really tested Ate Beerthuis's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Lennart de Visscher sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ankrum's Ate Beerthuis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pierre Breugel in the 8th minute of play. In the 9th match minute, FC de Patjakkers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rob Ewald to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pierre Breugel in the 14th minute of play forced Ankrum's goalkeeper Ate Beerthuis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henk Kremer in the 18th minute of play forced FC de Patjakkers's goalkeeper Paul de Boer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 18th match minute, FC de Patjakkers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mart Griemink to maneuver through the defense. Giel Bult took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 19th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Paul de Boer. FC de Patjakkers's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Ankrum's zone, Joost Veenhuis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ate Beerthuis came out of the goal and Joost Veenhuis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pierre Breugel got free with Ate Beerthuis in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 24 minutes, Maurice Holsmuller mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ankrum and the FC de Patjakkers players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Ankrum getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Maurice Holsmuller hit a great ball. Remond Ronde hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. 39 minutes into the match, Ankrum's goal looked a bit too open when Pierre Breugel came free, but Ate Beerthuis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ankrum's Ate Beerthuis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Ankrum from getting a goal against them. Joost Veenhuis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ate Beerthuis having to interfere. In the 46th match minute, FC de Patjakkers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brain Roelofsen to maneuver through the defense. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pierre Breugel stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Joost Veenhuis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ate Beerthuis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pierre Breugel in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ate Beerthuis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 61 played minutes Ankrum got a freekick which was hit by Gerwin Hartlief. If Pierre Breugel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joost Veenhuis in the 74th minute of play forced Ankrum's goalkeeper Ate Beerthuis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ate Beerthuis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rob Ewald, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Ben Luirink kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. After 77 played minutes, Ankrum's Giel Bult shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Paul de Boer came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ankrum reached it. Maurice Holsmuller received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Paul de Boer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 82 minutes into the match, FC de Patjakkers's goal looked a bit too open when Henk Kremer came free, but Paul de Boer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 87th minute, Pierre Breugel left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC de Patjakkers fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Pierre Breugel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lennart de Visscher in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Paul de Boer saved FC de Patjakkers from getting behind. FC de Patjakkers's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
