Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Lennart de Visscher started the match with the kick off. Jan-Willem Rijkaard took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henk Kremer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the last second Jan-Willem Rijkaard throw himself and got hold of the ball when Lennart de Visscher in the 5thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Henk Kremer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jan-Willem Rijkaard having to interfere. Maurice Holsmuller sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 15th match minute, fc groningwn was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hendrik van Loo to maneuver through the defense. Jan-Willem Rijkaard made an important save on a dangerous shot by Maurice Holsmuller in the 18th minute. Jan-Willem Rijkaard made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henk Kremer in the 20th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lennart de Visscher in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jan-Willem Rijkaard saved fc groningwn from getting behind. Henk Kremer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 26th minute Maurice Holsmuller shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan-Willem Rijkaard saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Henk Kremer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ate Beerthuis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hette Seedorf, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Ate Beerthuis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hendrik van Loo in the 32nd minute of play. In the 40th match minute, Ankrum was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jan Korsma to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Hendrik van Loo managed to get in a good position for a shot. fc groningwn's supporters rose to their feet, but Hendrik van Loo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ate Beerthuis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Hendrik van Loo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ate Beerthuis was relentless in the 47th minute of the game. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hette Seedorf to strike the kick off in the second half. Ankrum's Ate Beerthuis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Ankrum from getting a goal against them. fc groningwn's Jan-Willem Rijkaard played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maurice Holsmuller in the 55th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Lennart de Visscher managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ankrum's supporters rose to their feet, but Lennart de Visscher was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jan-Willem Rijkaard breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maurice Holsmuller in the 58th minute of play forced fc groningwn's goalkeeper Jan-Willem Rijkaard to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lennart de Visscher sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 70 minutes into the match, Ankrum's Henk Kremer sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jan-Willem Rijkaard narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Lennart de Visscher managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ankrum's supporters rose to their feet, but Lennart de Visscher was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jan-Willem Rijkaard breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jan-Willem Rijkaard came out of the goal in the 72nd minute to try and stop a shot by Ankrum's Henk Kremer. But to his dismay, Henk Kremer quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. 76 minutes into the match, fc groningwn's goal looked a bit too open when Lennart de Visscher came free, but Jan-Willem Rijkaard reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ankrum's Ate Beerthuis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Ankrum from getting a goal against them. If Henk Kremer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 82nd minute, Maurice Holsmuller ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jan-Willem Rijkaard was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Jan-Willem Rijkaard showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lennart de Visscher in the 85th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Henk Kremer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ankrum's supporters rose to their feet, but Henk Kremer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jan-Willem Rijkaard breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gerwin Hartlief hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Hendrik van Loo came free with the goalkeeper in the 95th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Ate Beerthuis could save by the left post. fc groningwn's Hette Seedorf got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the referee ended the match the Ankrum players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
