After 4 played minutes Vinzendi FC Retired! got a freekick which was hit by Marinus van Zwam. Peter Driel struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Martien Eisenga didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ajax. ajax's Ronald Velthuis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafael Baars in the 8th minute of play. Anton Aerssen who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 9thth minute tested the skills of Ronald Velthuis when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Ronald Velthuis was a little too slow when Rafael Baars got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 10th minute. The score was now 1-0. Martin van Gessel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martien Eisenga having to interfere. Peter Driel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vinzendi FC Retired!'s Martien Eisenga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martin van Gessel in the 20th minute of play. The supporters of ajax booed when Vinzendi FC Retired! was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Harald Kolkman didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Vinzendi FC Retired!'s zone, Peter Driel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Martien Eisenga came out of the goal and Peter Driel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Peter Driel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Martien Eisenga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Martin van Gessel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Vinzendi FC Retired!'s Lennart Houwing got a free kick in the 34th minute. After 35 minutes of play, ajax's Peter Driel made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Martien Eisenga was left in no man's land by his defense there! Martin van Gessel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martien Eisenga having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Vinzendi FC Retired!'s Marinus van Zwam got a free kick in the 40th minute. 41 minutes into the game, Peter Driel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. ajax's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vinzendi FC Retired! the free kick. Heiko Zwinkels charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Heiko Zwinkels the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 46th match minute, ajax was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Heiko Zwinkels to maneuver through the defense. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

In the 53rd minute, Martin van Gessel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Martien Eisenga made an important save on a dangerous shot by Peter Driel in the 59th minute. Martien Eisenga came out of the goal in the 60th minute to try and stop a shot by ajax's Peter Driel. But to his dismay, Peter Driel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Peter Driel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ronald Velthuis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anton Aerssen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ronald Velthuis didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rafael Baars went, in the 68th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Karsten van Ankeren hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Martien Eisenga made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Peter Driel sent off a good shot on target. In the 76th match minute, Vinzendi FC Retired! was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arjen Stam to maneuver through the defense. Martien Eisenga made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Peter Driel sent off a good shot on target. Peter Driel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
