Spectators: 7965 (Terracing: 5975, Seating: 1832, VIP seats: 158) Ramele's Vincent Zon started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Gert van Steensel fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ramele's protests and gave Gert van Steensel a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Ramele getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Gert van Steensel hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Herman Aalberts managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ramele's supporters rose to their feet, but Herman Aalberts was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Martien Eisenga breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 14 minutes into the game, Vincent Zon cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Martien Eisenga was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Joris Roelofs might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Martien Eisenga. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Joris Roelofs ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Ramele's Gert van Steensel got a free kick in the 19th minute. Marc Plagge's late challenge caught a Vinzendi FC Retired!'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marc Plagge helped the player get up and apologised. Marc Plagge kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. 28 minutes into the match, Vincent Zon dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Martien Eisenga, 2-0. 34 minutes into the match, Anton Aerssen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sjoerd Vervoort. Ramele's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Anton Aerssen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. In the 42nd minute, Anton Aerssen left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vinzendi FC Retired! fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. When Iwan Blikman came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Ramele fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Iwan Blikman couldn't finish the play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Anton Aerssen made a kick off. Joris Roelofs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Martien Eisenga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 54th minute, Anton Aerssen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sjoerd Vervoort was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. When Marc Plagge came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Ramele fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marc Plagge couldn't finish the play. Iwan Blikman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Martien Eisenga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 68th minute, Joris Roelofs got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Ramele fans' excitement grew in the 73rd match minute when Ramele's Vincent Zon looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Vinzendi FC Retired! were furious when Arjen Stam was red carded, 79 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 78 minutes into the game, one of Vinzendi FC Retired!:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Anton Aerssen took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sjoerd Vervoort. Sjoerd Vervoort dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-5. Ramele's Sjoerd Vervoort proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Ramele from getting a goal against them. After some careless play in the Ramele defense, Anton Aerssen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sjoerd Vervoort. The Ramele fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sjoerd Vervoort should have stopped the shot. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Ramele lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
