Spectators: 8460 (Terracing: 6346, Seating: 1945, VIP seats: 169) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Shi Peng Hui kicked off to start the match. MVV Maastricht's Sjef de Haan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erik van Harten in the 5th minute of play. A well done corner resulted in Rein Dekkers drilling the ball in to score 0-1 behind MVV Maastricht's goalkeeper. Erik van Harten struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Sjef de Haan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Saleen. FC Saleen's Zé Pedro Mandrak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maarten Colen in the 18th minute of play. A hard shot 24 in the game by Maarten Colen from a close distance when the talented Zé Pedro Mandrak managed to make a qualified save. FC Saleen's players were relieved. After 25 minutes, Lech Jazowski mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Saleen and the MVV Maastricht players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 26 played minutes FC Saleen got a freekick which was hit by Lech Jazowski. After a rather tough play, FC Saleen's Martien Zoetmulder got a free kick in the 30th minute. Sjef de Haan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Shi Peng Hui, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Mathijs de Zee hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Erik van Harten during the 35th minute. Sjef de Haan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 45 minutes into the match, FC Saleen's Erik van Harten sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sjef de Haan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Zé Pedro Mandrak took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maurits Ruben, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 48 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for FC Saleen! FC Saleen:s Zé Pedro Mandrak showed great skill when he stopped Maurits Ruben:s penalty. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

In the 53rd match minute, MVV Maastricht was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ricky Mol to maneuver through the defense. Erik van Harten received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Sjef de Haan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Erik van Harten received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Zé Pedro Mandrak showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maarten Colen in the 72nd minute of the match. In the 77th minute Erik van Harten shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sjef de Haan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 79 minutes into the game, Arno Spanjer recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Sjef de Haan. Arno Spanjer showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. Maurits Ruben hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. After 84 minutes, Arno Spanjer mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Saleen and the MVV Maastricht players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 84th match minute, FC Saleen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arno Spanjer to maneuver through the defense. An unexpected shot in the 88th minute by Shi Peng Hui got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 92nd minute, Shi Peng Hui fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 97th minute Maurits Ruben shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Pedro Mandrak saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the final whistle sounded FC Saleen left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than MVV Maastricht.
