Sjef de Haan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claude Helssen in the 7th minute of the match. MVV Maastricht's Sjef de Haan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save MVV Maastricht from getting a goal against them. In the 18th minute, Matias Abadie reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Sjef de Haan. The goal made the score 1-0. A collision led to MVV Maastricht getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Ernst van Bommel hit a great ball. After 22 played minutes MVV Maastricht got a freekick which was hit by Gilbert Fleur. Finidi George sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 27th minute, Elmar Steelman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 33rd minute, Maarten Colen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Santiago Urtats was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 37th minute, but Sjef de Haan got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving MVV Maastricht hanging dry this time. Sjef de Haan made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Matias Abadie sent off a good shot on target. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Matias Abadie to strike the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the MVV Maastricht defense, Matias Abadie kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sjef de Haan. The MVV Maastricht fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sjef de Haan should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Caseys Dreamteam 2 getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Claude Helssen hit a great ball. In the 60thth minute of the game Maurits Ruben who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Caseys Dreamteam 2's Santiago Urtats was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Sjef de Haan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jeremy Paulin, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Caseys Dreamteam 2 were awarded a corner in the 63th minute after MVV Maastricht's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ghislain Liagre took the corner. Finidi George was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Santiago Urtats made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maarten Colen in the 66th minute of play. With a little luck, Caseys Dreamteam 2's Santiago Urtats got control of the ball when Gilbert Fleur tried to sneak it across the goal line. John Pothuizen's late challenge caught a Caseys Dreamteam 2's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. John Pothuizen helped the player get up and apologised. After 79 minutes of play, Caseys Dreamteam 2's Claude Helssen made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sjef de Haan was left in no man's land by his defense there! Maarten Colen struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Santiago Urtats didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for MVV Maastricht. In the 85thth minute of the game Gilbert Fleur who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Caseys Dreamteam 2's Santiago Urtats was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 85 minutes, Gilbert Fleur made it 3-2 with a short kick to the right side. Caseys Dreamteam 2's Santiago Urtats tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Maarten Colen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Santiago Urtats made a huge save. Gilbert Fleur received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Santiago Urtats came out and tried to block the shot, but Gilbert Fleur slotted it home off the left post making it 3-3 in the 90th minute. After having played for 93 minutes, Mathijs de Zee managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MVV Maastricht's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mathijs de Zee was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 95 minutes into the match, MVV Maastricht's goal looked a bit too open when Matias Abadie came free, but Sjef de Haan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
