Wilco Eiting showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dave Witting in the 2nd minute of the match. Wilco Eiting was out of position in the 4 minute of play, and Yorrick Roorda capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Yorrick Roorda really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. With an all-out effort, Zutphen SC's Wilco Eiting threw himself towards the right post 10 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Yorrick Roorda, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 14 minutes into the match, Sönke Hagen notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Zutphen SC's José Neto. José Neto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Wilco Eiting showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yorrick Roorda, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. The supporters of Zwart Wit Franeker 24 booed when Zutphen SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Niek Fuchs didn't get a good kick on the ball. José Neto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sönke Hagen in the 23rd minute of play. 24 minutes had been played when some careless play by Zutphen SC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Harris Oost was slow to take the kick. During this time Zwart Wit Franeker 24's players had a chance to rest. After having played for 31 minutes, Daniel Jönsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zwart Wit Franeker 24's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Jönsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 31 minutes into the game, Jonathan van Zwam was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Zutphen SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Zwart Wit Franeker 24 the free kick. Jonathan van Zwam kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. 33 minutes into the match, Sönke Hagen notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Zutphen SC's José Neto. José Neto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Yorrick Roorda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilco Eiting having to interfere. In the 38th minute Dave Witting shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilco Eiting saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sönke Hagen kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Yorrick Roorda stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, Zutphen SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Niek Fuchs to maneuver through the defense. Japke Sybring made in the 58th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Zwart Wit Franeker 24's Fabian Brock. Wilco Eiting took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dave Witting, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yorrick Roorda in the 63rd minute of play forced Zwart Wit Franeker 24's goalkeeper Wilco Eiting to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 65th minute Zutphen SC were awarded a corner. Dave Witting went to the cornerflag to take it. Gerrie Lembeck thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Wilco Eiting, a very annoying self made goal in the 65th minute which led to 2-2. Wilco Eiting made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucien van Damme in the 68th minute of play. 73 minutes into the match, Zutphen SC's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Jönsson came free, but José Neto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 74th minute Yorrick Roorda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilco Eiting saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zutphen SC's Niek Fuchs got his second yellow card of the match in the 80th minute. The referee ordered Niek Fuchs off the ground. After a rather tough play, Zutphen SC's Niek Fuchs got a free kick in the 81st minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fabian Brock during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Wilco Eiting made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yorrick Roorda in the 91st minute of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Zutphen SC fully deserved thier win.
