In the 26th minute Arnold Holthuis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lex Brürs saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mario Cramer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Lex Brürs tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 30 minutes into the match, Schoonloo's goal looked a bit too open when Hubert van Rhijn came free, but Roland Geitz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 33rd minute, Schoonloo's Bennie van Assen dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Harmelen's defense didn't have a chance, in the 40th minute, when Thijs Seedorf scored to the left of an out of position Lex Brürs, making the score, 3-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Thijs Seedorf got free with Lex Brürs in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lex Brürs was a little too slow when Arnold Holthuis got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 47th minute. The score was now 4-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Thijs Seedorf was the one to do the kick off. The audience was convinced that Thijs Seedorf's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lex Brürs was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. A collision led to Harmelen getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Hubert van Rhijn hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Harmelen defense, Sander Breinburg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lex Brürs. The Harmelen fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lex Brürs should have stopped the shot. Schoonloo's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
