Bert Zeeman scored 0-1 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Edward Klaassen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Edward Klaassen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arjen Pronk, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rios Cabada during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Rios Cabada hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. In the 24th match minute, Eethen HC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arjen Pronk to maneuver through the defense. Gijsbert Harms was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Tom Sibon showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 25 minute of play. A sloppy throw-in by Maurice Snijders in the 31st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Eethen HC's Bert Zeeman. Daniël Tamminga kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Tom Sibon struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Gijsbert Harms didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC CAMBUUR LEEUWARDEN. A collision led to Eethen HC getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Nick Apotheker hit a great ball. Gijsbert Harms made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Hans-Cees Struik sent off a good shot on target. Hans-Cees Struik fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gijsbert Harms having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Arjen Pronk was the one to do the kick off. Eethen HC's Gijsbert Harms played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tom Sibon in the 53rd minute of play. Marco Langenbach sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 56 minutes, Tom Sibon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC CAMBUUR LEEUWARDEN's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tom Sibon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 59 minutes into the game, SC CAMBUUR LEEUWARDEN's Hans-Cees Struik nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gijsbert Harms made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. In the 63rd minute, Kristof Kamps ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gijsbert Harms was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Gijsbert Harms showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marco Langenbach, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Ger Spanjaard ran back to his position shaking his head. SC CAMBUUR LEEUWARDEN were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
