In the 5thth minute of the game Sjors Geitz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC CAMBUUR LEEUWARDEN's Edward Klaassen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Marco Langenbach recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ed de Backer in the 18th minute of play forced SC CAMBUUR LEEUWARDEN's goalkeeper Edward Klaassen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edward Klaassen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ed de Backer, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Sjors Geitz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Edward Klaassen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sjors Geitz in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edward Klaassen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The corner led Windraak S.V.'s Coenraad Muskee to fire away a dangerous shot which Edward Klaassen despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 33 minutes into the match, Windraak S.V.'s goalkeeper Jairo Macías had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kristof Kamps. Henk Bartele lost his temper 37 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Edward Klaassen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Coenraad Muskee in the 38th minute of the match. Tom Sibon kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Edward Klaassen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sjors Geitz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 41 minutes, Billy Otten mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Windraak S.V. and the SC CAMBUUR LEEUWARDEN players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of SC CAMBUUR LEEUWARDEN booed when Windraak S.V. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Billy Otten didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as SC CAMBUUR LEEUWARDEN's Tom Sibon slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jairo Macías. That made the score 2-0 after 44 minutes of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Sjors Geitz made the kick off in the second half. After 53 minutes, Gilbert Lindenbergh mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Windraak S.V. and the SC CAMBUUR LEEUWARDEN players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 54th match minute, Windraak S.V. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilbert Lindenbergh to maneuver through the defense. SC CAMBUUR LEEUWARDEN's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ernest Timmerman in the 56th minute. Edward Klaassen came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by Windraak S.V.'s Ed de Backer. But to his dismay, Ed de Backer quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. 67 minutes into the match, SC CAMBUUR LEEUWARDEN's Tom Sibon sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jairo Macías narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 68 minutes into the game, Christijan Veldman was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Windraak S.V.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC CAMBUUR LEEUWARDEN the free kick. After 68 played minutes Windraak S.V. got a freekick which was hit by Christijan Veldman. Tom Sibon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edward Klaassen had great luck who in the 71stth minute grab hold of the ball when Sjors Geitz from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Edward Klaassen was a little too slow when Billy Otten got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 73rd minute. The score was now 2-2. After 80 played minutes SC CAMBUUR LEEUWARDEN got a freekick which was hit by Kristof de Zaaijer. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC CAMBUUR LEEUWARDEN's goalkeeper Edward Klaassen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
