In the 12th minute Jan Boelens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alvydas Turskis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arne Zwartkruis hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Alvydas Turskis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Niels Hassel, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. When the match clock showed 24 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Hubert Adriaanse sped through Ajax Amsterdam's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Alvydas Turskis. After 26 played minutes Fruity Oaty Bars got a freekick which was hit by Jan Boelens. If Otto Ekgren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ajax Amsterdam's Alvydas Turskis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jan Boelens in the 31st minute of play. After 33 minutes of play, Fruity Oaty Bars's Hubert Adriaanse made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alvydas Turskis was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Ajax Amsterdam booed when Fruity Oaty Bars was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Max Engelaar didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jan Boelens in the 38th minute of play forced Ajax Amsterdam's goalkeeper Alvydas Turskis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 39th minute Hubert Adriaanse shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alvydas Turskis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 40 minutes into the match, Jan Boelens notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Ajax Amsterdam's Alvydas Turskis. Alvydas Turskis was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 46 minutes into the match, Ajax Amsterdam's goal looked a bit too open when Jan Boelens came free, but Alvydas Turskis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carlo de Vos made in the 47th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Otto Ekgren. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joost Holst to make the kick off. Niels Hassel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Ajax Amsterdam defense, Jan Boelens kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alvydas Turskis. The Ajax Amsterdam fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alvydas Turskis should have stopped the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hubert Adriaanse in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alvydas Turskis saved Ajax Amsterdam from getting behind. After 65 played minutes Fruity Oaty Bars got a freekick which was hit by Jan Boelens. Victor Hernando hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. The Fruity Oaty Bars fans' excitement grew in the 71st match minute when Fruity Oaty Bars's Hubert Adriaanse looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-5 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Niels Hassel could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Alvydas Turskis made a huge save. Alvydas Turskis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jan Boelens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alvydas Turskis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hubert Adriaanse, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. In the 80th minute, Jan Boelens reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Alvydas Turskis. The goal made the score 0-6. Klaas Jan Halen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Otto Ekgren, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Fruity Oaty Bars's Jan Boelens slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Alvydas Turskis. That made the score 0-8 after 90 minutes of play. In the 95th minute, Mark Roelfs hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hermengildo Txeru received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Klaas Jan Halen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fruity Oaty Bars played a much better game than Ajax Amsterdam and deserved their victory. The Ajax Amsterdam players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
