A collision led to Daarlerveen getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Pierre Hommes hit a great ball. When Lieven Roelants fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. If Pierre Hommes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daarlerveen's Jurgen Spierenburg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Daarlerveen from getting a goal against them. Jurgen Spierenburg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mathieu van den Berg in the 46th minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Barry Mans was the one to do the kick off. Jordi Zielman hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. If Barry Mans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 60 minutes into the match, Daarlerveen's goal looked a bit too open when Richard Achterberg came free, but Jurgen Spierenburg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pierre Hommes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Remond Bogaard came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Daarlerveen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Remond Bogaard couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arjen Bos in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jurgen Spierenburg saved Daarlerveen from getting behind. 70 minutes into the match, Arjen Bos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jurgen Spierenburg. Daarlerveen's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Arjen Bos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Jurgen Spierenburg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miroslaw Scislowicz in the 75th minute of the match. 80 minutes into the match, Ruitenberg FC's goalkeeper Rik Stekelenburg had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hans Tieleman. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pierre Hommes in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rik Stekelenburg prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 84 minutes into the match, Daarlerveen's goal looked a bit too open when Miroslaw Scislowicz came free, but Jurgen Spierenburg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With his leg Rik Stekelenburg managed to avoid a goal in the 89thth minute, when Daarlerveen's Pierre Hommes fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 90th minute, Miroslaw Scislowicz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jurgen Spierenburg was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. Daarlerveen's Jurgen Spierenburg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miroslaw Scislowicz in the 96th minute of play.
