The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Richard Heerspink fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Humberto Stroeve having to interfere. Humberto Stroeve stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hans Meijs's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. The supporters of Defender Red Bull2.1 booed when De Rammers FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Evaggelos Polizos didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Richard Heerspink in the 19th minute of play forced De Rammers FC's goalkeeper Humberto Stroeve to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Humberto Stroeve took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hans Meijs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Defender Red Bull2.1 getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Stephan Alards hit a great ball. Roelof Hesseling made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evaggelos Polizos in the 23rd minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Piotr Hodyl kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Roelof Hesseling. That made the score 1-1 in the 25 minute of play. After 29 minutes of play, Defender Red Bull2.1's Richard Heerspink made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Humberto Stroeve was left in no man's land by his defense there! Roelof Hesseling was a little too slow when Evaggelos Polizos got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 33rd minute. The score was now 2-2. In the 36th minute, Richard Heerspink left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Defender Red Bull2.1 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. In the 39th match minute, Defender Red Bull2.1 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by António Rodrigues to maneuver through the defense. Humberto Stroeve made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Richard Heerspink in the 42nd minute of play. De Rammers FC's Humberto Stroeve played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Richard Heerspink in the 44th minute of play. In the 46th minute Hans Meijs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Humberto Stroeve saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 2-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hans Meijs stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When the match had gone on for 76 minutes, Richard Heerspink took a quick shot and it went in 2-5 without a chance for Humberto Stroeve to make any attempt to save it. Defender Red Bull2.1 made a substitution. Richard Veenhuis replaced Hans Meijs. With a little luck, De Rammers FC's Humberto Stroeve got control of the ball when Richard Veenhuis tried to sneak it across the goal line. Vali Acatincăi's late challenge caught a Defender Red Bull2.1's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vali Acatincăi helped the player get up and apologised. In the 86th minute, Vali Acatincăi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Roelof Hesseling showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Piotr Hodyl in the 89th minute of the match. 89 minutes into the match, Defender Red Bull2.1's goal looked a bit too open when Piotr Hodyl came free, but Roelof Hesseling reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Defender Red Bull2.1's Roelof Hesseling played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Piotr Hodyl in the 96th minute of play. The Defender Red Bull2.1 supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Defender Red Bull2.1 would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
