The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Zijdewind SC getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. But to his dismay, Michel Ellerman quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Zijdewind SC's Ferdi Dekens got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. David van Putten came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by Zijdewind SC's Ferdi Dekens. But to his dismay, Ferdi Dekens quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Franck Tinge was extremely unlucky when he, in the 28th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Franck Tinge might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over David van Putten. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Franck Tinge ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 30th minute, Daniël De Leeuw reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of David van Putten. The goal made the score 2-2. Mario Klompe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maurits van der Bij, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 35 minutes into the match, Zijdewind SC's goal looked a bit too open when Maurits van der Bij came free, but Mario Klompe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 36thth minute of the game Franck Tinge who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Stevensbeek FC's David van Putten was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Michel Ellerman struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Mario Klompe didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Stevensbeek FC. Michel Ellerman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mario Klompe having to interfere. 47 minutes into the match, Stevensbeek FC's Michel Ellerman sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mario Klompe narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Henry Lembeck hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Zijdewind SC's Mario Klompe got control of the ball when Michel Ellerman tried to sneak it across the goal line. Michel Ellerman in the 54thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Mario Klompe, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 56 minutes into the match, Marcel Steen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mario Klompe. Zijdewind SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marcel Steen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. Stevensbeek FC's David van Putten played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ferdi Dekens in the 63rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Zijdewind SC's Henk Zaagman got a free kick in the 64th minute. 70 minutes into the match, Zijdewind SC's goalkeeper Mario Klompe had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Michel Ellerman. David van Putten made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arjan van Zijp in the 73rd minute of play. Stevensbeek FC's David van Putten played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilco Theuws in the 74th minute of play. In the 74th minute Ferdi Dekens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David van Putten saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 75th minute, Daniël De Leeuw hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Michel Ellerman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Mario Klompe made a huge save. A collision led to Zijdewind SC getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Gert Kroeze hit a great ball. 82 minutes into the game, Maurits van der Bij was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Stevensbeek FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Zijdewind SC the free kick. Maurits van der Bij kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. In the 84th minute Ferdi Dekens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David van Putten saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Michel Ellermans short, quick shot in the 86thth minute got Mario Klompe to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Kristian Eringa hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. David van Putten made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Franck Tinge in the 92nd minute of play. The supporters of Zijdewind SC booed when Stevensbeek FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maurits van der Bij didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Stevensbeek FC getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Maurits van der Bij hit a great ball. The Stevensbeek FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
