Niels Rooy scored 1-1 in the 8th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Werner Kamps, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 15 minutes into the match, The Maquis's goal looked a bit too open when Nathan van Aalderen came free, but Walther Jano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Niels Rooy might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Werner Kamps. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Niels Rooy ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Bierunese's Pieter Denneboom got a free kick in the 20th minute. The long shot by Oliver Smit in the 21st minute really tested Werner Kamps's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. 26 minutes into the match, The Maquis's goal looked a bit too open when Nathan van Aalderen came free, but Walther Jano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the The Maquis defense, Kevin Arnolds kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Walther Jano. The The Maquis fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Walther Jano should have stopped the shot. Walther Jano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kevin Arnolds in the 32nd minute of play. Werner Kamps showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Niels Rooy, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Niels Rooy's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Werner Kamps read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Donato Alvarez couldn't finish the play. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kevin Arnolds made a kick off. Zhuo Feng Lei kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Walther Jano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donato Alvarez in the 61st minute of play. In the 61st minute Donato Alvarez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walther Jano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Werner Kamps showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marco Walregt, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. 67 minutes into the game, Donato Alvarez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The supporters of The Maquis booed when Bierunese was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position.
