Mehmet Bedri Sağanalp started the match with the kick off. In the 7th match minute, FC Schoonhoven was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jef Decheiver to maneuver through the defense. During the 12th minute of the match Jef Decheiver completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Jef Decheiver a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 15th minute, Theo Otten got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Niels Rooy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jamie Constantine having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Niels Rooy in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jamie Constantine saved FC Schoonhoven from getting behind. Niels Rooy had several of the FC Schoonhoven's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 23 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Jamie Constantine as he didn't even see the shot coming. Walther Jano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mehmet Bedri Sağanalp, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. 陈建川 was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 29th minute. The Maquis's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Walther Jano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Theo Otten in the 36th minute of play. Niels Rooy could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Jamie Constantine made a huge save. Jamie Constantine came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by The Maquis's Niels Rooy. But to his dismay, Niels Rooy quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Jamie Constantine took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Niels Rooy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to FC Schoonhoven getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Alessio Darmanin hit a great ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Niels Rooy to make the kick off. Jamie Constantine didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when The Maquis's Niels Rooy shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 3-0 in the ordered_time% minute. After a rather tough play, The Maquis's Zhuo Feng Lei got a free kick in the 57th minute. In the 63rd minute, Niels Rooy made a precise shot to the right of Jamie Constantine. FC Schoonhoven's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. The supporters of FC Schoonhoven booed when The Maquis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lech Dudek didn't get a good kick on the ball. 陈建川 struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Jamie Constantine didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for The Maquis. Niels Rooy's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jamie Constantine read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. The Maquis's 陈建川 was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jamie Constantine in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Theo Otten in the 77th minute of play forced The Maquis's goalkeeper Walther Jano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 81 minutes, Gerard de Visser put it in 5-1 from a short distance just to the right of Walther Jano. 87 minutes into the match, FC Schoonhoven's goal looked a bit too open when Marco Walregt came free, but Jamie Constantine reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Niels Rooy struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Jamie Constantine didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for The Maquis. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Niels Rooy managed to get in a good position for a shot. The Maquis's supporters rose to their feet, but Niels Rooy was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jamie Constantine breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jamie Constantine stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Niels Rooy's shot from short distance in the 93rd minute. When the match had gone on for 93 minutes, Niels Rooy put it in 6-1 from a short distance just to the right of Jamie Constantine. For all the effort they put into the match, the FC Schoonhoven players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for The Maquis.
