Wilfried Henselmans took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ruud Geels, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Herbert Hilhorst acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 10th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Victor Ixona. Wilfried Henselmans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adriaan Kuypers in the 41st minute of play. A collision led to Osdorp FC getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Raul Valery hit a great ball. In the 47th minute Twan Hesseling shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilfried Henselmans saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Teodor Jokiranta to make the kick off. Verwachting were awarded a corner in the 51th minute after Osdorp FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Adriaan Kuypers took the corner. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teodor Jokiranta in the 58th minute of play forced Verwachting's goalkeeper Herbert Hilhorst to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 59th minute, Huib Staarman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Osdorp FC's Wilfried Henselmans proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Osdorp FC from getting a goal against them. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Wilfried Henselmans showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Osdorp FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 73rd minute, when Christijan Schreuder scored to the left of an out of position Wilfried Henselmans, making the score, 0-2. Wilfried Henselmans showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adriaan Kuypers, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. In the 84th minute of the match, Christijan Schreuder got a very nice opportunity to score, but Wilfried Henselmans was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Christijan Schreuder sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Frank Wiegmann kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Adriaan Kuypers made a good shot from long distance 92 minutes into the match, but Wilfried Henselmans was on his toes and read the play so well that he without major difficulties grabbed hold of the ball before it went into the goal in the upper right corner. After 94 played minutes Verwachting got a freekick which was hit by Twan Hesseling. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Verwachting walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
