In the 20th minute of the match, Arnold Pool tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Mirko Vervoort saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 21st minute Sons of Strategy were awarded a corner. Wilco Heida went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Wilco Heida almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Mijdrecht Maffia's Mirko Vervoort did a great save. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Benjamin Moorlag was the one to do the kick off. The referee ignored Sons of Strategy's protests and gave Marinus Abbenbroek a yellow card for diving instead. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Sons of Strategy fans cheered their team off the field, for while Mijdrecht Maffia had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
