In the 5th match minute, SCs StarS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Florian Hekman to maneuver through the defense. 6 minutes into the match, SCs StarS's goal looked a bit too open when Komen Schotte came free, but Petr Čech reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Petr Čech made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pepijn Hummel in the 7th minute of play. When FFC Merainies 03's Komen Schotte in the 8th minute got a chance for a shot 8th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SCs StarS's goalie prevented a goal. After 11 played minutes SCs StarS got a freekick which was hit by Robert de Graaf. SCs StarS's Co Scholten managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Angelo Renzi in the 13 minute of the game. SCs StarS's Thiago Gol got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 18 minutes into the match, SCs StarS's goal looked a bit too open when Pepijn Hummel came free, but Petr Čech reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 28th minute Komen Schotte shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petr Čech saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 30th minute of the match FFC Merainies 03 got a corner. SCs StarS's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Boukjan Bunt ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led FFC Merainies 03's Bruno Marceau to fire away a dangerous shot which Petr Čech despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 31st minute Izaak Spijker suffered a knee injury and had to be helped off the field. After 35 played minutes SCs StarS got a freekick which was hit by Thiago Gol. 38 minutes into the match, Pepijn Hummel had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Petr Čech. SCs StarS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pepijn Hummel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. SCs StarS's Petr Čech played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bruno Marceau in the 42nd minute of play. Petr Čech showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pepijn Hummel, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. The SCs StarS players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. FFC Merainies 03 were winning 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Komen Schotte stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Florian Hekman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Pepijn Hummel's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Petr Čech read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. The corner led FFC Merainies 03's Komen Schotte to fire away a dangerous shot which Petr Čech despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. FFC Merainies 03's Komen Schotte was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 61st play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. After 74 minutes FFC Merainies 03's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Florian Hekman who took care of the corner kick. Edgar Reitsema kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Komen Schotte in the 78th minute of play forced SCs StarS's goalkeeper Petr Čech to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Petr Čech showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pepijn Hummel in the 79th minute of the match. 82 minutes into the match, SCs StarS's goal looked a bit too open when Pepijn Hummel came free, but Petr Čech reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Petr Čech took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pepijn Hummel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jordy Dirks took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu. Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Petr Čech made an important save on a dangerous shot by Komen Schotte in the 87th minute. In the 88th minute Florian Hekman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The FFC Merainies 03 players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
