Jan Wessel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ksawery Gongola, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. Robin Boelens could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu made a huge save. With an all-out effort, The Underdogs's Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu threw himself towards the right post 8 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Piearres Olalla, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robin Boelens in the 9th minute of the match. Dolf Schoonderwoerd came free with the goalkeeper in the 10th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu could save by the left post. The Underdogs's Jan Wessel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ksawery Gongola in the 13th minute of play. Piearres Olalla struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for The Underdogs. The audience thought a goal was coming when Robin Boelens got free with Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Piearres Olalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 24th minute of the match The Underdogs got a corner. FFC Merainies 03's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Iustin Hațegan ran over to the corner to take the kick. Jan Wessel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pepijn Hummel in the 26th minute of play. 26 minutes into the match, The Underdogs's goal looked a bit too open when Pepijn Hummel came free, but Jan Wessel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. FFC Merainies 03's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jörgen Kjellqvist in the 28th minute. FFC Merainies 03's Jörgen Kjellqvist was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jan Wessel in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Dolf Schoonderwoerd received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leon Craandijk's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jan Wessel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. FFC Merainies 03 were awarded a corner in the 33th minute after The Underdogs's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jörgen Kjellqvist took the corner. Izaak Spijker kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. In the 33rd minute, FFC Merainies 03's Leon Craandijk fired away a free kick that almost went in the goal. Jan Wessel was prepared for the shot, but didn't have to make a play as the shot flew over the goal. 37 minutes into the match, The Underdogs's goal looked a bit too open when Ksawery Gongola came free, but Jan Wessel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, The Underdogs's Ed Palsma got a free kick in the 41st minute. Jörgen Kjellqvist recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the match had gone on for 46 minutes, Robin Boelens put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 53rd minute, Frank de Boer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 55 played minutes The Underdogs got a freekick which was hit by Iustin Hațegan. After 55 played minutes, FFC Merainies 03's Jörgen Kjellqvist shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jan Wessel came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FFC Merainies 03 reached it. Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robin Boelens in the 57th minute of the match. 57 minutes into the match, FFC Merainies 03's goal looked a bit too open when Robin Boelens came free, but Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robin Boelens in the 58th minute of play. The Underdogs were awarded a corner in the 60th minute after FFC Merainies 03's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Iustin Hațegan took the corner. The corner led The Underdogs's Iustin Hațegan to fire away a dangerous shot which Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robin Boelens in the 63rd minute of the match. When Piearres Olalla fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored The Underdogs's protests and gave Piearres Olalla a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, The Underdogs's Piearres Olalla got a free kick in the 65th minute. Piearres Olalla kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Ksawery Gongola took the ball and in the 69 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jan Wessel. Jan Wessel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. The Underdogs made a substitution. Riemer Fries replaced Frank de Boer. In the 78th minute Leon Craandijk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan Wessel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dolf Schoonderwoerd in the 80th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Robin Boelens's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu was relentless in the 82nd minute of the game. 88 minutes into the match, Iustin Hațegan notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of FFC Merainies 03's Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu. Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 92nd minute, Dolf Schoonderwoerd left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The The Underdogs fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. The Underdogs had won after a very even match.
