Winthont FC's Dennis Beerthuis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Huub Gerrits in the 7th minute of play. 14 minutes into the match, Winthont FC's goal looked a bit too open when Perivaldo Eger came free, but Dennis Beerthuis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 21 minutes, Perivaldo Eger managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. De Pelgrims's supporters crossed their fingers, but Perivaldo Eger was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Winthont FC getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Ivo Henselmans hit a great ball. Dennis Beerthuis made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Perivaldo Eger sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, De Pelgrims's Huub Gerrits got a free kick in the 28th minute. 29 minutes into the match, De Pelgrims's goal looked a bit too open when Alex de Rudder came free, but Mike Zoetmulder reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 30th minute, Jacobus Lubbers hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 34 minutes had been played when some careless play by Winthont FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Fu Peng Feng was slow to take the kick. During this time De Pelgrims's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Fu Peng Feng almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Winthont FC's Dennis Beerthuis did a great save. Theo Tuyp made in the 36th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Huub Gerrits however managed to control. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Perivaldo Eger in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dennis Beerthuis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 39 minutes, Huub Gerrits managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. De Pelgrims's supporters crossed their fingers, but Huub Gerrits was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Winthont FC's Dennis Beerthuis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Winthont FC from getting a goal against them. Dennis Beerthuis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mathias de Ruijter in the 45th minute of play. The supporters of De Pelgrims booed when Winthont FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ivo Henselmans didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Perivaldo Eger stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Dennis Beerthuis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mathias de Ruijter in the 53rd minute of play. Max Landzaat struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Mike Zoetmulder didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Winthont FC. If Huub Gerrits had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Filip Bennink hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Theo Tuyp kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alex de Rudder got free with Mike Zoetmulder in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, De Pelgrims's Mike Zoetmulder got control of the ball when Alex de Rudder tried to sneak it across the goal line. 64 minutes into the game, De Pelgrims's Perivaldo Eger nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dennis Beerthuis made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. When Huub Gerrits came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the De Pelgrims fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Huub Gerrits couldn't finish the play. Dennis Beerthuis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jan-Peter Kloppenburg, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. In the 75th match minute, Winthont FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Max Landzaat to maneuver through the defense. 79 minutes into the game, Theo Tuyp threw the ball into play from the sideline. Winthont FC's Marnix Mastebroek quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 82nd minute Perivaldo Eger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dennis Beerthuis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 84 played minutes Winthont FC got a freekick which was hit by Filip Bennink. In the 87th match minute, Winthont FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alex de Rudder to maneuver through the defense. 90 minutes into the game, De Pelgrims's Montrel Perpiñán nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dennis Beerthuis made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. After 93 played minutes Winthont FC got a freekick which was hit by Max Landzaat. Pascall Kolman hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Fu Peng Feng didn't quite understand what happened when in the 97 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet.
