Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nick Heesen in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Ágætis Byrjun booed when FFC Merainies 03 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leon Craandijk didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Nick Heesen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nick Heesen in the 13th minute of play forced FFC Merainies 03's goalkeeper Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gert van den Bergh recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nick Heesen in the 17th minute of play forced FFC Merainies 03's goalkeeper Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 27thth minute of the game Ksawery Gongola who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ágætis Byrjun's Georg Hagberg was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. FFC Merainies 03's Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pastor Donostia in the 29th minute of play. 30 minutes into the match, FFC Merainies 03's goal looked a bit too open when Nick Heesen came free, but Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ksawery Gongola got free with Georg Hagberg in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Fabio Botello hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nick Heesen, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Ágætis Byrjun's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ladislao Cordarius in the 39th minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of FFC Merainies 03's goalie and right to Nick Heesen. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. FFC Merainies 03's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. In the 42nd minute, Gregorio Urtsin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ksawery Gongola to strike the kick off in the second half. FFC Merainies 03's Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pastor Donostia in the 54th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ksawery Gongola in the 55th minute of play forced Ágætis Byrjun's goalkeeper Georg Hagberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Georg Hagberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ksawery Gongola in the 55th minute of play. In the 63rd minute Ksawery Gongola shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Georg Hagberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ágætis Byrjun's Georg Hagberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ksawery Gongola in the 63rd minute of play. Pepijn Hummel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Georg Hagberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. FFC Merainies 03's Gertjan Engbers was substituted for Jörgen Kjellqvist. Ágætis Byrjun's Georg Hagberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pepijn Hummel in the 69th minute of play. FFC Merainies 03 were awarded a corner in the 70th minute after Ágætis Byrjun's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Fabio Botello took the corner. Nick Heesen came free with the goalkeeper in the 82nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu could save by the left post. Nick Heesen had several of the FFC Merainies 03's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 83 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-1 score and a disappointed Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu as he didn't even see the shot coming. Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pastor Donostia in the 87th minute of play. Nick Heesen blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu having to make a save. With a little luck, FFC Merainies 03's Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu got control of the ball when Nick Heesen tried to sneak it across the goal line. Georg Hagberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Job Gasteren in the 92nd minute of play. Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nick Heesen, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. In the 96th minute of the match Ágætis Byrjun got a corner. FFC Merainies 03's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ladislao Cordarius ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Ágætis Byrjun's corner Ladislao Cordarius fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu quite easily take care of the ball. Chants of Ágætis Byrjun echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as FFC Merainies 03 had held the ball for most of the match.
