Daniele Gilson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tommy Vassallo in the 8th minute of play. After some careless play in the Lourdes Paola defense, Etienne Amato Gauci kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Daniele Gilson. The Lourdes Paola fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Daniele Gilson should have stopped the shot. Lourdes Paola's Daniele Gilson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Etienne Amato Gauci in the 17th minute of play. Lourdes Paola's Nicholas Xuereb got his second yellow card of the match in the 19th minute. The referee ordered Nicholas Xuereb off the ground. Nicholas Xuereb kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ranier Failla in the 22nd minute of play forced Lourdes Paola's goalkeeper Daniele Gilson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kevin Gatt couldn't finish the play. After 35 played minutes Lourdes Paola got a freekick which was hit by Mike Bianco. In the 37th minute, Clint Tabone hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tommy Vassallo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Daniele Gilson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rosario Worley in the 41st minute of play. After some careless play in the Lourdes Paola defense, Etienne Amato Gauci kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Daniele Gilson. The Lourdes Paola fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Daniele Gilson should have stopped the shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Etienne Amato Gauci made a kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Kevin Gatt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FALCONERS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lourdes Paola the free kick. A collision led to FALCONERS getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Kevin Gatt hit a great ball. 65 minutes into the game, Etienne Amato Gauci cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Daniele Gilson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Daniele Gilson didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when FALCONERS's Etienne Amato Gauci shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-5 in the ordered_time% minute. In the 75th match minute, FALCONERS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rosario Worley to maneuver through the defense. In the 76th minute of the match Charlo Mahoney sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nils Söderqvist skillfully saved the ball. If Thomas Engerer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. In the 81st minute, one of FALCONERS:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for FALCONERS. Nils Söderqvist had in the 83rdth minute some difficulties stopping Charlo Mahoney's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Nils Söderqvist didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Charlo Mahoney went, in the 83rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-5 was the resulting score. Thomas Engerer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nils Söderqvist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Clint Tabone in the 94th minute of the match. Mike Bianco hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. After 99 minutes Lourdes Paola's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Rosario Worley who took care of the corner kick. FALCONERS's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
