Haitz Mendez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jeremy Gabarretta in the 14th minute of play. Augustin Bonanno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andrew Zarb in the 15th minute of the match. In the 16th match minute, Mdina Klabb tal-Futbol was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jake Bonanno to maneuver through the defense. Augustin Bonanno stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Raúl Gonzalez Pirez's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. The Ghaxaq F.C fans' excitement grew in the 19th match minute when Ghaxaq F.C's Raúl Gonzalez Pirez looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Augustin Bonanno showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andrew Zarb, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Raúl Gonzalez Pirez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ghaxaq F.C's Haitz Mendez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Ghaxaq F.C from getting a goal against them. Augustin Bonanno showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raúl Gonzalez Pirez, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. A collision led to Mdina Klabb tal-Futbol getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Ivan Evans hit a great ball. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mdina Klabb tal-Futbol's goalkeeper Augustin Bonanno, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Mdina Klabb tal-Futbol's zone, Raúl Gonzalez Pirez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Augustin Bonanno came out of the goal and Raúl Gonzalez Pirez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nathan Scifo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Augustin Bonanno having to interfere. Mdina Klabb tal-Futbol's Augustin Bonanno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raúl Gonzalez Pirez in the 43rd minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jeremy Gabarretta to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute of the match David Lowell shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Haitz Mendez showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Raúl Gonzalez Pirez in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Augustin Bonanno saved Mdina Klabb tal-Futbol from getting behind. With a little luck, Mdina Klabb tal-Futbol's Augustin Bonanno got control of the ball when Nathan Scifo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Herbert Laspina kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. A hard shot 65 in the game by Raúl Gonzalez Pirez from a close distance when the talented Augustin Bonanno managed to make a qualified save. Mdina Klabb tal-Futbol's players were relieved. If Alec Patten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jake Bonanno lost his temper 70 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Andrew Zarb blasted a shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Augustin Bonanno having to make a save. Ivan Evans recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ghaxaq F.C's Calcedonio Cumbo was substituted for Taddeo Assenza. In the 79th minute, Edward Butters hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ivan Evans sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. David Lowell hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Liam De Luca could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Augustin Bonanno made a huge save. When Raúl Gonzalez Pirez came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Ghaxaq F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raúl Gonzalez Pirez couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Mdina Klabb tal-Futbol's Jonas Abbatino got a free kick in the 97th minute.
