The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Alan Bianco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 4th match minute, Tarġa Gap was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jason Cassar Desain to maneuver through the defense. Alan Bianco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yan Ellis having to interfere. In the 14th minute, Angelo Pirotta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Roderick Fava took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gaetano Guerrera, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gaetano Guerrera received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Roderick Fava tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alan Bianco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Dylan Griffin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dennis Pace hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Yan Ellis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dylan Griffin in the 41st minute of play. Peter Paul Bondin kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Alan Bianco got in the 45th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Yan Ellis handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Brian Gatt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Roderick Fava tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dylan Griffin to strike the kick off in the second half. Roderick Fava showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Peter Paul Bondin, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Yan Ellis came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by Mistra United's Dylan Griffin. But to his dismay, Dylan Griffin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Roderick Fava stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gaetano Guerrera's shot from short distance in the 62nd minute. Gaetano Guerrera sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Peter Paul Bondin kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. In the 77th minute Dylan Griffin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yan Ellis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dylan Griffin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Yan Ellis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Tarġa Gap booed when Mistra United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dylan Griffin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mistra United's Roderick Fava played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gaetano Guerrera in the 85th minute of play. A collision led to Mistra United getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Angelo Pirotta hit a great ball. In the 89th minute, Isaac Demartino sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Mistra United's Roderick Fava didn't even have to move. Mistra United's Roderick Fava played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gaetano Guerrera in the 92nd minute of play. Roderick Fava made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Brian Gatt sent off a good shot on target. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Mistra United fans cheered their team off the field, for while Tarġa Gap had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
