Martin Tanti received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Carl Fiteni tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carl Fiteni made an important save on a dangerous shot by Martin Tanti in the 11th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Malcolm Micallef Enyaud in the 14th minute of play forced United Kingdom's goalkeeper Carl Fiteni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Simon Micallef struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Gregory Privitelli didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for United Kingdom. Simon Micallef's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gregory Privitelli read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. Gregory Privitelli came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by United Kingdom's Pierre De Giovanni. But to his dismay, Pierre De Giovanni quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Simon Micallef to make the kick off. 57 minutes into the match, United Kingdom's goal looked a bit too open when Malcolm Micallef Enyaud came free, but Carl Fiteni reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Malcolm Micallef Enyaud in the 68th managed to get into a good position. If Simon Micallef had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Qala Athletics's Malcolm Micallef Enyaud got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 91 minutes, Martin Tanti managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Qala Athletics's supporters crossed their fingers, but Martin Tanti was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 92nd match minute, United Kingdom was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oliver Bilocca to maneuver through the defense. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
