Keith Debrincat showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daryl Taliana, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. The supporters of Liverpool booed when Safi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roderick Saliba didn't get a good kick on the ball. Safi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roberto Calì was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 64 minutes into the game, Liverpool's Noel Testa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Keith Debrincat made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Noel Testa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Keith Debrincat read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play. Nigel Mercieca recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Victor Mattei received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Jake Gordon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Safi's Keith Debrincat played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Noel Testa in the 73rd minute of play. Keith Debrincat made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Noel Testa in the 74th minute of play. If Noel Testa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 87th minute Dustin De Stefano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jake Gordon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Bastjan Salamone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Liverpool's Noel Testa got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Safi getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Victor Mattei hit a great ball. The Liverpool support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
