Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Luigi Mangion kicked off to start the match. When Antoine Ciantar came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Lija Athletics AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Antoine Ciantar couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Antoine Ciantar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lija Athletics AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Antoine Ciantar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Timothy Mula breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Naxxar Lions's Timothy Mula played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jordan Bilocca in the 16th minute of play. If Frederick Rolè had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Louis Demanuele during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 19th match minute, Naxxar Lions was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Louis Demanuele to maneuver through the defense. Luigi Mangion hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Frederick Rolè kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Malcolm Spiteri kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Timothy Mula showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jordan Bilocca in the 29th minute of the match. Naxxar Lions's attentive Malcolm Spiteri managed to snatch the ball when Liam Mallia made a throw-in in the 39th minute of the game. After 43 played minutes Naxxar Lions got a freekick which was hit by Peter Farrugia.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jordan Bilocca to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Frederick Rolè managed to get in a good position for a shot. Frederick Rolè who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 64thth minute tested the skills of Timothy Mula when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Timothy Mula made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Frederick Rolè sent off a good shot on target. Louis Demanuele kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Jordan Bilocca hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Timothy Mula made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Jordan Bilocca sent off a good shot on target. The corner led Lija Athletics AFC's Adriano Coppini to fire away a dangerous shot which Timothy Mula despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Frederick Rolè recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Naxxar Lions's Timothy Mula got control of the ball when Liam Mallia tried to sneak it across the goal line. Malcolm Spiteri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
