Alex Callus made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Isaac Galea sent off a good shot on target. If Nicholas Biasini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Martin Cassar blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alex Callus having to make a save. In the 21st minute, Adriano Flask hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ismael De Lucca in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Roderick Trapani Galea Feriol saved Tarġa Gap from getting behind. 33 minutes into the game, Joseph Apap was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FK Kai's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tarġa Gap the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 33rd minute of the game. One of FK Kai:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Tarġa Gap:s goal. When the match had been going on for 34 minutes, Tarġa Gap's Isaac Chircop got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Alex Callus. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ismael De Lucca in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Roderick Trapani Galea Feriol saved Tarġa Gap from getting behind. Alex Callus showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nicholas Biasini in the 46th minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ismael De Lucca to make the kick off. Alex Callus made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicholas Biasini in the 53rd minute of play. An unexpected shot in the 56th minute by Bjorn Depasquale got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Malcolm Trigona's late challenge caught a Tarġa Gap's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Isaac Galea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 65 minutes, Isaac Galea managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tarġa Gap's supporters crossed their fingers, but Isaac Galea was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Tarġa Gap's Isaac Galea got a free kick in the 72nd minute. 74 minutes into the match, FK Kai's goal looked a bit too open when Isaac Galea came free, but Alex Callus reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 95 minutes, Ismael De Lucca managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FK Kai's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ismael De Lucca was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Stanley Hamilton kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. For all the effort they put into the match, the FK Kai players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Tarġa Gap.
