After having played for 23 minutes, Salvatore Loporto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ghadira FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Salvatore Loporto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Karistu Galea Feriol fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Luqa's protests and gave Karistu Galea Feriol a yellow card for diving instead. When Karistu Galea Feriol came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Luqa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Karistu Galea Feriol couldn't finish the play. Karistu Galea Feriol received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Gong Bing Yan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The tension between the Luqa and the Ghadira FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Robbie Abos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 62 minutes into the match, Ghadira FC's goalkeeper Gong Bing Yan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pierre Cassar. In the 72nd minute, John Gottschalk hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Robbie Abos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Redent Nappa, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. In the 77th minute Justin Ambrogio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robbie Abos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Karistu Galea Feriol was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 79 minutes had been played. When the match clock showed 84 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Adrian Cassar sped through Luqa's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Robbie Abos. Taddeo Polidano hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match.
