Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Liam Sciberras Trigona kicked off to start the match. When Joseph Rapinett fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gharb Rangers's protests and gave Joseph Rapinett a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Albert Town booed when Gharb Rangers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joseph Rapinett didn't get a good kick on the ball. 4 minutes into the match, Miguel Gafà had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Juan Duca. Gharb Rangers's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Miguel Gafà was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Lawrence Grech Cumbo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Juan Duca read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 7th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 8 minutes, Tim Callus took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Nigel Ganado to make any attempt to save it. Jonathan Scriha's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 13thth minute, Nigel Ganado skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 14th match minute, Albert Town was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leo Fava to maneuver through the defense. 15 minutes into the match, Gharb Rangers's Tim Callus sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nigel Ganado narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Lawrence Grech Cumbo took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Juan Duca. Juan Duca dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Nigel Ganado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tony Petroni, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Tim Callus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Roberto Teuma Castelletti received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Nigel Ganado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tony Petroni sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tim Callus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nigel Ganado having to interfere. After 38 played minutes Albert Town got a freekick which was hit by Liam Sciberras Trigona. The audience was convinced that Jonathan Scriha's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nigel Ganado was relentless in the 41st minute of the game. Nigel Ganado didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 42nd minute, which inside left pole to 2-2. Nigel Ganado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonathan Scriha in the 46th minute of the match. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jonathan Scriha to make the kick off. After 71 minutes of play, Gharb Rangers's Tony Petroni made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nigel Ganado was left in no man's land by his defense there! Tim Callus's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nigel Ganado read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. Tony Petroni recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 84th minute, Tony Petroni got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 86th minute, Roberto Teuma Castelletti got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 88 minutes, Jonathan Scriha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gharb Rangers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jonathan Scriha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
