But to his dismay, Ian Pace Asciak quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After 18 played minutes Filfla got a freekick which was hit by Lauro Ebejer. Keith Casha made an important save on a dangerous shot by Joseph Gregory in the 21st minute. 25 minutes into the game, Nathan Briffa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Sean Callus was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Joseph Gregory sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 33 minutes of play, Tuna Chunks's Nathan Briffa made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sean Callus was left in no man's land by his defense there! Nathan Briffa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Sean Callus tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 40th minute Nathan Briffa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sean Callus saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Filfla's Roberto De Piro got a free kick in the 41st minute. Nathan Briffa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 43 played minutes Filfla got a freekick which was hit by Lauro Ebejer. Ian Pace Asciak scored 0-4 in the 45th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sean Callus, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Marco Giudice made a kick off. With a little luck, Filfla's Sean Callus got control of the ball when Nathan Briffa tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ian Pace Asciak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sean Callus having to interfere. Roberto De Piro charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Roberto De Piro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Roberto De Piro hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Filfla's Roberto De Piro got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ian Pace Asciak sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 75th minute, Filfla's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Nathan Briffa fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. If Nathan Briffa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Ian Pace Asciak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tuna Chunks's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
