After 13 minutes, Cedric Fenech mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mewchamp united and the Red Redemption players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Mewchamp united getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Cedric Fenech hit a great ball. When Gianluca Troisi came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Mewchamp united fans jumped to their feet. Jake De Giovanni fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thomas Ebejer having to interfere. Martin Trigona made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Sebastian Doublet sent off a good shot on target. Martin Trigona made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Clyde Mula in the 21st minute of play. Clyde Mula might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Martin Trigona. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Clyde Mula ran back to his position shaking his head. After 30 played minutes Mewchamp united got a freekick which was hit by Shaun Cuschieri. If Jake De Giovanni had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thomas Ebejer stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jake De Giovanni's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. 38 minutes into the match, Red Redemption's goal looked a bit too open when Jake De Giovanni came free, but Thomas Ebejer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 40 minutes into the match, Mewchamp united's goalkeeper Martin Trigona had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sebastian Doublet. In the 46th minute, Clyde Mula got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

In the 53rd minute, Sebastian Doublet ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Martin Trigona was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Sebastian Doublet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Shaun Cuschieri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thomas Ebejer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Shaun Cuschieri, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. When Mewchamp united's Jake De Giovanni in the 71st minute got a chance for a shot 71st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Shaun Cuschieri in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Thomas Ebejer saved Red Redemption from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Mewchamp united's Anthony Doublet got a free kick in the 85th minute. Jake De Giovanni blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Thomas Ebejer having to make a save. Sebastian Doublet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mewchamp united's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
