In the 5th minute Jake Apap shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andrea Bonello saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Amadeo Farrugia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thomas Mercieca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Charles Gellel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Carl Pulis hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Thomas Mercieca made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Glenn Schembri sent off a good shot on target. Andrea Bonello showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Harry Galdes in the 16th minute of the match. Amadeo Farrugia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Andrea Bonello tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 21st minute, Dylan Bugelli hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 22nd minute Harry Galdes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andrea Bonello saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Glenn Schembri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thomas Mercieca having to interfere. Amadeo Farrugia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thomas Mercieca was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Jonathan Urpani. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Amadeo Farrugia made a kick off. Andrea Bonello was a little too slow when Amadeo Farrugia got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 55th minute. The score was now 1-1. Shaun Lentini's late challenge caught a Nigret's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Shaun Lentini helped the player get up and apologised. After recieving a nice pass, Nigret's Gabriel Cohen tried to score from far away in the 61st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. If Charles Gellel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 76th minute, Glenn Schembri got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mġarr's Andrea Bonello played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amadeo Farrugia in the 81st minute of play. In the 87th minute of the match, Amadeo Farrugia tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Andrea Bonello saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. If Harry Galdes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Charles Gellel in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Thomas Mercieca saved Nigret from getting behind. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
