In the 4thth minute of the game Carl Coppini who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but San Ġiljan Youths's Vincent Baldacchino was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Ivan Polidano came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Gunners fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ivan Polidano couldn't finish the play. Vincent Baldacchino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jurgen Decesare, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. A collision led to San Ġiljan Youths getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Gabriel Cristina hit a great ball. Vincent Baldacchino made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Jacob Stivala sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Carl Coppini's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vincent Baldacchino was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. In the 26th minute, Carl Coppini left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gunners fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. San Ġiljan Youths's Vincent Baldacchino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ivan Polidano in the 30th minute of play. In the 31st minute, Jacob Stivala hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ivan Polidano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vincent Baldacchino having to interfere. Jacob Stivala hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Vincent Baldacchino came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Gunners's Carl Coppini. But to his dismay, Carl Coppini quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Ivan Polidano made the kick off in the second half. In the 60th minute of the match Alfred Bianco sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vincent Baldacchino skillfully saved the ball. In the 61st minute, Thomas Drago fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 66th minute, Jurgen Decesare ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vincent Baldacchino was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. Vincent Baldacchino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivan Polidano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpected shot in the 79th minute by Ivan Polidano got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Vincent Baldacchino made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Carl Coppini sent off a good shot on target. Thomas Drago received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Vincent Baldacchino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 91 played minutes San Ġiljan Youths got a freekick which was hit by Jacob Stivala. 95 minutes into the match, San Ġiljan Youths's goal looked a bit too open when Ivan Polidano came free, but Vincent Baldacchino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jurgen Decesares short, quick shot in the 96thth minute got Vincent Baldacchino to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The San Ġiljan Youths supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Gunners's performance. The match ended with a win for Gunners.
