Gianluca Stellini was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. If Edward Bigeni had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 23rd minute, Ivan Rapinett hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 27 minutes into the match, Siggiewi FC's goal looked a bit too open when George Amato Gauci came free, but Gianluca Stellini reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 34th match minute, Siggiewi FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mario Debono to maneuver through the defense. In the 39thth minute of the game Edward Bigeni who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Laandaas's Sean Portelli was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Edward Bigeni fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sean Portelli having to interfere. Laandaas's Sean Portelli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tommy Baldacchino in the 43rd minute of play. Sean Portelli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edward Bigeni, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Tommy Baldacchino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Sean Portelli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Laandaas's zone, Edward Bigeni stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sean Portelli came out of the goal and Edward Bigeni tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edward Bigeni was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Edward Bigeni got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 55th minute of the match Andre Testaferrata Moroni Viani sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sean Portelli skillfully saved the ball. Edward Bigeni received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Sean Portelli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Tommy Baldacchino managed to get in a good position for a shot. Siggiewi FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Tommy Baldacchino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sean Portelli breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 75th minute, Edward Bigeni got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edward Bigeni in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sean Portelli saved Laandaas from getting behind. In the 79th minute, George Amato Gauci left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Laandaas fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Tommy Baldacchino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Sean Portelli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Edward Bigeni kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Sean Portelli. That made the score 3-2 in the 88 minute of play. 95 minutes into the game, Laandaas's Bernard Sapiano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gianluca Stellini made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-2. Siggiewi FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
