An unexpectedly hard shot by Carl Coppini in the 48th minute of play forced HIBERNIANS F.C.'s goalkeeper Aidan Delia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ivan Polidano to strike the kick off in the second half. Through an outstanding action, after 53 minutes, Aidan Delia successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. If Kenneth Borda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 56th match minute, HIBERNIANS F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jason Scicluna to maneuver through the defense. When Kenneth Borda came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the HIBERNIANS F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kenneth Borda couldn't finish the play. Ivan Polidano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aidan Delia having to interfere. Jonathan Xuereb received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Philip Bezzina tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
