The Three-sided Coins's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave San Alwigi the free kick. In the 18th minute there was a penalty for San Alwigi. Karl Mugliett showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jean Paul Amaira, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. San Alwigi's Ryan Simiana got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 31st minute, Martin Baldacchino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, The Three-sided Coins's Fabrizio Xiberras tried to score from far away in the 32nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. If Jean Paul Amaira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind The Three-sided Coins's goalkeeper George Bajada, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Franco Quintano came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the The Three-sided Coins fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Franco Quintano couldn't finish the play.

The wind increased when Amadeo Rapinett made the kick off in the second half. In the 60th minute Jean Paul Amaira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl Mugliett saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. George Bajada showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amadeo Rapinett, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute.
