After a rather tough play, San Ġiljan Youths's Ryan Scicluna got a free kick in the 17th minute. Gabriel Cristina's late challenge caught a Laandaas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gabriel Cristina helped the player get up and apologised. In the 19th minute, Gabriel Cristina hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vincent Baldacchino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Massimo Meli in the 22nd minute of the match. Ivan Hamilton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Laandaas's defense didn't have a chance, in the 27th minute, when Leon Sladden scored to the left of an out of position Sean Portelli, making the score, 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Bernard Sapiano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Laandaas's supporters rose to their feet, but Bernard Sapiano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vincent Baldacchino breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 33 minutes into the match, San Ġiljan Youths's goal looked a bit too open when Bernard Sapiano came free, but Vincent Baldacchino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leon Sladden sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jacob Stivala sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After having played for 38 minutes, Ivan Hamilton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. San Ġiljan Youths's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ivan Hamilton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Leon Sladden stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Nathan Galdes kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Sean Portelli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leon Sladden, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Leon Sladden recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 67th match minute, San Ġiljan Youths was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jacob Laus to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Laandaas's Ivan Rapinett got a free kick in the 72nd minute. 76 minutes into the match, San Ġiljan Youths's goalkeeper Vincent Baldacchino had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bernard Sapiano. Dylan Bonett received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Vincent Baldacchino came out and tried to block the shot, but Dylan Bonett slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 77th minute. Bernard Sapiano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Vincent Baldacchino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. George Amato Gauci received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Although San Ġiljan Youths had been in control for most of the match, Laandaas still came away with the win.
