Jean Paul Amaira started the match with the kick off. After having played for 4 minutes, Franco Quintano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The Three-sided Coins's supporters crossed their fingers, but Franco Quintano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Franco Quintanos short, quick shot in the 5thth minute got Aidan Delia to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 12th minute, Ryan Cassar Naudi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 14th minute of the match Aaron Preca sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but George Bajada skillfully saved the ball. If Jean Paul Amaira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Franco Quintano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aidan Delia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jean Paul Amaira in the 21st minute of the match. In the 21st play minute Jean Paul Amaira came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Aidan Delia. 1-0. After a rather tough play, HIBERNIANS F.C.'s Josh Caruana Curran got a free kick in the 24th minute. Aidan Delia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jean Paul Amaira, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Jonathan Xuereb received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. George Bajada tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 35 minutes into the match, Kenneth Borda had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of George Bajada. The Three-sided Coins's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kenneth Borda was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Jean Paul Amaira managed to get in a good position for a shot. The Three-sided Coins's supporters rose to their feet, but Jean Paul Amaira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aidan Delia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Matthew Gambin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kenneth Borda to make the kick off. Kenneth Borda struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. George Bajada didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for HIBERNIANS F.C.. Jonathan Xuereb could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but George Bajada made a huge save. George Bajada took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kenneth Borda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kenneth Borda blasted a shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without George Bajada having to make a save. 72 minutes into the game, Daniele Cassar Torreggiani was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The Three-sided Coins's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave HIBERNIANS F.C. the free kick. George Bajada showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kenneth Borda, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Kenneth Borda recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Jonathan Xuereb had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Jason Scicluna fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored HIBERNIANS F.C.'s protests and gave Jason Scicluna a yellow card for diving instead. Jason Scicluna hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. The Three-sided Coins were awarded a corner in the 97th minute after HIBERNIANS F.C.'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Fabrizio Xiberras took the corner. Fabrizio Xiberras made a great header on The Three-sided Coins's corner, it was just that HIBERNIANS F.C.'s Aidan Delia managed to reach the ball for a save. When the match was over HIBERNIANS F.C. could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than The Three-sided Coins throughout the match.
